As I mentioned earlier in my blog, Greg and I are new homeowners (YAY!). We have decided to take on a few "small" projects before we move in. One of the projects is the bathroom, which, in my opinion, this is the most important room in the house, for all the obvious reasons. Some of the changes include taking the sink and vanity out, putting tile around the tub and putting in a pedestal sink to create more room. Easy enough right? Well, I coach rowing on weekends so Greg is able to get in there and do whatever it is he needs to do to get the job done without tripping over me. It's his "man time". After coaching, I stopped by to see the progress of everything and was shocked to see that we no longer have a bathroom of any kind. EVERYTHING was taken out. The walls were exposed so all you saw were the plumbing and studs and the floor was no longer there. Just rusty old nails. I had no idea what to say other than, "Wow, someone is having a good time."
What I am slowly starting to get is that my role in this process is being the "Designer". This new job requires me picking out color, brush nickel faucets, tile color and other things that excite me more than tearing shit up and making a big mess.
House Lesson #1: I design and Greg is the Laborer, it's a lot easier this way. (I hope)
